Since its inception in 1984, the National Gaucher Foundation (NGF) has supported hundreds of patients and their families through financial assistance, educational programming, patient services, and collaboration with medical professionals. The NGF proudly includes the Stepping Stones Sustainer initiative to help further its vital services.
Stepping Stones, a sustainer giving program designed to support NGF’s patient advocacy initiatives, with a goal to ensure those living with Gaucher disease are empowered with resources to provide comprehensive disease management.
Gaucher disease can affect anyone, regardless of ethnicity, age or gender and occurs up to 1 in 40,000 live births in the general population.
Gaucher disease is more common among Jews of Ashkenazi (Eastern European) descent, with approximately 1 in 10 people a carrier and 1 in 450 affected. While Gaucher presents differently in each patient, all patients are susceptible not only to spleen and liver enlargement, but also fragile bones, fatigue, anemia, bruising and bleeding issues, and more.
Your gift will bridge the gap in the funding for the NGF’s advocacy initiatives, which serve as a lifeline to many patients living with Gaucher disease. These programs allow patients to lead a full and active life.
Join the Stepping Stones Sustainer program today and make an impact every day among the 6,000 patients living with Gaucher disease throughout the United States.
